The faster Chrome seems to be on pace and its adoption has been growing and growing. Many stats website seems to say that chrome has already overtaken IE but some not.
Well, I personally like to work with chrome during software development as it has some really useful Developer tools, where one can edit an element and change the css properties on the fly while you see the changes reflected instantly. Chrome has also some nice extensions one of which i like is the Page Speed extension which can give you an idea of how fast your website loads and where are the performance improvement points, it also give you some suggestions which might increase the over-all performance of your website.
